At the just concluded 2016 Cannes Lions Nigeria ceremony, held at the MUSON Centre, Onikan Lagos and organized by official representative of the Lions Festivals in Nigeria, Chini Africa, the teams representing the agency won in the Print, Film and the keenly contested Cyber (Digital) category.
It was a clean sweep, with Insight winning in three out of the four creative categories up for grabs.
Creative Jury president, and industry experts, specially commended the winning teams from Insight, highlighting the simplicity of ideas, brilliance and craftsmanship of the works exhibited.
In the Print Category, the team of Adefolaju Tella and Emeka Ezeagu came out triumphant, defeating five other agencies in the process. Of great significance is the fact that Folaju Tella also won the same category, at the last year’s edition. This makes Fola the first young creative to win the print category, back to back, not an easy feat by industry standard.
Also, the team of Jephtah Nwabuisi and Samuel Olorundare came out tops in the Film Category. The riveting and enthralling piece of work certainly did catch the attention of the Jury and other industry experts. Jephthah Nwabuisi also emerged as a winner of the Miami Ad School, Hamburg scholarship (Bachelor’s degree) in partnership with the prestigious Steinbeis University, Berlin Germany.
Another creative, Ifeanyi Blessed Dibia, also emerged winner of the Miami Ad School, Berlin scholarship (Master’s degree) also in partnership with the prestigious Steinbeis University, Berlin Germany.
The third team of Azad Abdullahi and Adekunle Koledoye won in the Cyber (Digital) category, edging out competition from other so-called young digital agencies.
These wins across categories further re-affirm our commitment to the future of the Creative Advertising Industry and brings to fore the abundance of young talents carefully nurtured at the home of Nigerian Advertising- Insight Publicis.
The winning teams will prestigiously lead Nigeria’s contingent to the global event, the Cannes Lion Festival of Creativity, France, from the 18th -25th of June 2016.
